Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
