The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The influential game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
